Jane Austen died in Winchester in 1817, in rented rooms in College Street. She was buried in the north aisle of the Cathedral. The tour will include a walk through the Cathedral’s historic Inner Close to the house on College Street where Jane and Cassandra stayed during their time in Winchester.
Guided tours are available throughout the year to groups. Public tours will be taking place on the first Saturday of the month from February to November 2016.
